NeuroShield™ is a chitosan membrane for peripheral nerve repair

Our peripheral nerve system is vital since it connects our brain to the rest of the body. An accident, a tumor or even a surgery can lead to nerve damage. Depending on the location and severity of the injury, the consequences can vary from numbness to loss of movement or to sexual impotence.

NeuroShield is made of naturally occurring Chitosan, which shields nerves from further damage and promotes faster regrowth. This accelerates recovery from nerve damage.

NeuroShield provides
Protection, Guidance, Flexibility, Easy Handling, Transparency, Bioabsorption.

When hydrated, NeuroShield™ is easy to handle, soft, pliable, nonfriable, porous and transparent.

NeuroShield™ is provided as a sterile, rectangular sheet in the size of 40 x 30 mm and is intended for single use.

NeuroShield™ can easily be placed over the injured nerve, and can be sutured if necessary.

The device can be trimmed or shaped to the appropriate size to fit the nerve tissue to be treated.

NeuroShield is indicated for the repair of peripheral nerve injuries in which there is no gap or where a gap closure can be achieved by flexion of the extremity.

Chitosan has several beneficial natural properties.
